Shami Kabab Patties

  • K&N's Shami Kabab - 6 kababs
  • Water - ½ cup
  • Flour - 2 cups
  • Puff pastry dough - 200g
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - ½ cup; finely chopped
  • Green Chillies - 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black Pepper Powder - ½ tsp
  • White Pepper Powder - ½ tsp
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Red Capsicum - ¼ cup; finely diced
  • Green Capsicum - ¼ cup; finely diced
  • Egg - 1; for brushing

Fry K&N's Shami Kabab as per instructions on pack and set aside.

To make patties –Roll the dough flat on a surface and place uni-puff in the middle. Wrap dough around uni-puff and roll flat again. Fold the rolled dough and set aside at room temperature for 30 minutes. Roll and fold the same dough again without uni-puff, and set aside. Repeat this step 5 times.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a pan and sauté onion, green chillies and garlic. Add salt, black pepper powder, white pepper powder, 2 tbsp flour, and mix. Gradually add milk while mixing. Add red and green capsicum and cook for few minutes.

Finally roll the pastry dough and cut out pastry circles, slightly bigger than Shami Kabab.

Lay foil on baking tray and place pastry circles and brush each with egg. Place a Shami Kabab on each pastry and add a dollop of prepared filling. Gently lay a pastry circle on top of each patty and seal edges of top and bottom pastry.

Brush egg on each patty and place second layer of pastry. Seal edges as before and brush with egg. Bake patties at 180°C for 35 minutes or until golden.

Serve warm with condiments of your choice.
