Ingredients
  • K&N’s Kafta Kabab - 12-14 kababs
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Garlic - 1 tbsp; chopped
  • Onion - 1 cup; chopped
  • Tomato - ½ cup; chopped
  • Yellow bell pepper - ½ cup; chopped
  • Green bell pepper - ½ cup; chopped
  • Cumin powder - ½ tsp
  • Red chilli flakes - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - ½ tsp
  • Cinnamon powder - ½ tsp
  • Red chilli powder - ½ tsp
  • Salt - ½ tsp
  • Mozzarella cheese - as required; grated
  • Egg wash - as required
  • Sesame seeds - to sprinkle
  • Prepared dough - as required
 
Method

Fry K&N’s Kafta Kabab as per instructions on pack and cut vertically into half.

In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.

Add onion, tomato, yellow bell pepper, green bell pepper and sauté another minute.

Add cumin powder, red chilli flakes, coriander powder, cinnamon powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well. Fatayer filling is ready.

Add K&N’s Kafta Kabab into the Fatayer filling and mix thoroughly.

Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. Roll each part into a flat oval shape.

Place the Fatayer filling in the center and fold the corners of the dough inwards, leaving center open.

Spread mozzarella cheese in the center, brush dough with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.

Bake in a preheated oven, at 180°C, for 8-10 minutes or until cheese melts.

Turkish Fatayer with Kafta Kabab is ready. Cut in half and serve warm.

 
Dough:
Ingredients
  • All-purpose flour - 3 cups
  • Egg - 1
  • Yeast - 1 tbsp
  • Icing sugar - 1 tsp
  • Salt - ½ cup
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Warm milk - ½ cup
 
Method

In a bowl, add all-purpose flour, egg, yeast, sugar, salt, oil and milk.

Knead into a soft dough and let it rest until double in size.
